DURATION 8 Days and 7 Nights
DAY 1 : CUSCO – CLOUD FOREST
We wake up early to leave Cusco and begin a winding ascent into the Andes.
After a brief stop in chullpas Ninamarca (pre-Inka) the road starts to descend towards the village of Paucartambo where we stop to stretch our legs again and discover some interesting facts about this colonial town.
Leaving Paucartambo we begin our ascent through eucalyptus groves, cultivated fields, and remnant patches of native vegetation. Forty minutes from Paucartambo you reach Acjanaco at 3,500 meters atop the Eastern Cordillera of the Andes.
At this point, you have entered the Manu Biosphere Reserve where you are above the clouds gazing below into the lush jungle of the Amazon. Here we will stop for lunch to admire the view; we descend further into the cloud forest where the tree canopy covered by mist gives life to numerous epiphytes, moss, luscious green ferns and the Kur-Kur (highland bamboo). This area is a natural playground for a vast number of birds.
We make your way to an observation post where, with a little luck, you will be able to watch the fascinating dance of Peru’s National bird, the Cock-of-the-Rock and hopefully spot the Woolly monkey.

We will arrive at first lodge where we will spend the night. After a delicious meal we can enjoy the beautiful surroundings before turning in for the evening.
DAY 2 : CLOUD FOREST – AMARU MAYU
After a relaxing shower in the cascade, we will return to have the breakfast in the lodge, and then we take our luggage to continue the journey.
On the way we are doing some stop for visiting orchid garden and wildlife refuge “local project”, we set off to Atalaya fluvial port where we shall ride a boat upriver towards the Amaru Mayu lodge. During the boat ride, our guide will tell us about the different confluences of rivers in this area. Once installed in the lodge. Free afternoon and spend the night in the Amaru Mayu ecological reserve.

DAY 3 : AMARU MAYU
Today we wake up early morning to trek Paititi Refuge, at 2 hours surrounded by primary mountain forest and the possibility to observe a variety of species of monkey and other animals unaware of our presence. Also observing the abundant native flora and taste some seasonal fruits from

We take time for rest and prepare for the following “Laguna Misteriosa Path” up onto the mountain at 4 hour trek, searching for animals or their footprints getting to the high mountain viewer on the way, and coming back to the lodge for lunch.
The last afternoon relaxing and enjoy of this place and its surrounding views, warm climate and beautiful atmosphere.
DAY 4: AMARU MAYU – CASA MATSIGUENKA
We will continue the journey to navigate in Madres de Dios River and Manu River, on the way opportunity to observe a variety of birds, the beauty
landscape, in order to enter Manu National Park, making a brief stop at the Limonal station to show our authorization giving us access to the park. We continue coasting down the river and enjoying everything that capricious nature always wants to show throughout the day.
We will have lunch on the boat and in the afternoon you arrive at Casa Matsiguenka lodge where you are greeted by the natives of this ethnic group and show us all the richness culture alive that were inherited from generation to generation. Night in Casa Matsiguenka lodge
DAY 5 : CASA MATSIGUENKA
This day we will navigate in Salvador Lake on a catamaran in search of giant
otters (Pteronura brasiliensis) and explore the forest of the Casa Matsiguenka trying to find the spider monkey (Athelas paniscus) or the bustling peccaries (Tayassu peccary). After a full day of enjoying all this region of the Amazon has to offer, you will overnight at Casa Matsiguenka.
DAY 6 : CASA MATSIGUENKA – SHINTUYA
After breakfast we will take the boat to start our return journey upstream. Traveling down Manu River, we will make a brief stop at the checkpoint Limonal to record our departure. Continuing along the Madre de Dios River, on the way the spectacular landscape show us the beauty forest before arriving at Shintuya lodge. If there is time to visit the hot spring to take a soothing bath. Dinner and spend the night.
DAY 7 : SHINTUYA – AMARU MAYU
Before the breakfast, we walk into the trail to visit the golden cascade where feel us to take a shower and exploring the area. Come back to the lodge for breakfast continue your journey by boat to arrive our last lodge Amaru Mayu.
Time for rest and enjoy the beauty of this paradise place. Dinner and spend night.
DAY 8 : AMARU MAYU – CUSCO
After breakfast, time permitting us to prepare our trip back to Cusco. On the road we will make a short stop for lunch.
Finally, we will be arriving to Cusco city around 6:00pm. End of our services.
