DURATION 9 Days and 8 Nights
DAY 1 : Cusco – CLOUD FOREST
We wake up early to leave Cusco and begin a winding ascent into the Andes. After a brief stop in
After a brief stop in chullpas Ninamarca (pre-Inka) the road starts to descend towards the village of Paucartambo where we stop to stretch our legs again and discover some interesting facts about this colonial town.
Leaving Paucartambo we begin our ascent through eucalyptus groves, cultivated fields, and remnant patches of native vegetation.
Forty minutes from Paucartambo we reach Acjanaco at 3,500 meter atop the Eastern Cordillera of the Andes. At this point we have entered the Manu Biosphere Reserve where we are above the clouds gazing below into the lush jungle of the Amazon.
As we ascent down from Acjanaco, the baron Paramo starts to change to an elfin forest.
Here we will stop for lunch to admire the view. From here we descend further into the cloud forest where the tree canopy covered by mist gives life to numerous epiphytes, moss, luscious green ferns and the Kur-Kur (high land bamboo).
This area is a natural playground for a vast number of birds. We make our way to an observation post where, with a little luck, we will be able to watch the fascinating dance of Peru’s National bird, the Cock-of-the-Rock and hopefully spot the Woolly monkey.
We will arrive at first lodge where we will spend the night. After a delicious meal we can enjoy the beautiful surroundings before turning in for the evening.
DAY 2 : CLOUD FOREST – SANTA ROSA DE HUACARIA NATIVE CONMUNITY
After a relaxing shower in the cascade, we return at the lodge to have the breakfast and then we take our luggage to continue the journey by surpassing Pilcopata town to Santa Rosa de Huacaria Native community where we will delight in a tropical paradise of the cordiality of two ethnic groups Matsiguenkas and Huachipairis.
On the way we will observe different types of traditional agriculture and plantations, once in place we will go to Huacaria River where we can enjoy a refreshing swim in its crystal waters and tropical sun.
DAY 3 : SANTA ROSA DE HUACARIA NATIVE CONMUNITY
After breakfast we will visit the etno-botanic garden from Alberto, who explains us about the quality and benefits about the traditional medicinal plants that still on use for the shaman.
From this moment the volunteer spirit where we sharing and interacting with children of the native community as a part of this friendly social project.
For evening an unforgettable experience and invitation to participate in the traditional ritual of master plants, a moment of purification of body and soul always around to a good conversation
DAY 4 : SANTA ROSA DE HUACARIA NATIVE CONMUNITY – AMARU MAYU
From Huacaria the adventure proceeds to Pilcopata town where the rafts will be ready waiting for us to practice an exciting and unforgettable experience in this tropical Piñi Piñi river, one to three (I –III) level Rafting, one hour lasting from Pilcopata to the Amaru Mayu reserve.

DAY 5 : AMARU MAYU
After breakfast, we have the opportunity to practice a hike through Piñi Piñi path, with the possibility of observing a variety of monkeys or other wild animals unsuspecting and unaware of our presence, observe abundant native flora and taste seasonal fruits of organic garden time to return by boat for lunch.
DAY 6 : AMARU MAYU – SHINTUYA
You wake up early because you will spend most of the time by boat. You will visit a small ox-bow lake where we can see a type of birds, enjoy the beauty forest thought navigating in catamaran to explore the lake and walk to Ceiba trail, the spectacular biggest tree.
Continue traveling along the Madre de Dios River opportunity to see the spectacular landscapes that show us the beauty forest before arriving at Shintuya lodge. Relaxing in the hot spring to take a soothing bath, dinner and spend the night.
DAY 7 : SHINTUYA – BLANQUILLO
We wake up early because we will spend most of the time in the river, in the headwaters of the Alto Madre de Dios River. We have a relaxed boat journey down stream to the lowland forest.
During the trip you will enjoy the lunch on the boat. Throughout the day we can observe different types of flora and fauna. We continue our journey to reach Blanquillo lodge, it’s well known for having one of the largest macaw clay licks.
If we have time we will hike the trails in the area. Here we will have dinner and spend the night.
DAY 8 : BLANQUILLO
Early morning we will walk to the platform that located in front of the macaw clay lick. From the hides we fully enjoy the arrival of hundreds of parrots and parakeets, as the macaws descending to supplement their diet with minerals from the clay.
At the afternoon we visit high canopy tower, giving us the opportunity for sighting from top of canopy above 50 meters from the ground is the highest and most stunning of the entire Manu region.
A steel staircase leads to the observation deck made out of wood, which from we can see the movement of birds.
We can also see rare species frequently, as the harpy eagle (Harpia harpyja) nesting or better yet, in full hunt as also the king vulture (Sarcoramphus papa) of the jungle. Night in Blanquillo
DAY 9 : BLANQUILLO – COLORADO – PUERTO CARLOS – CUSCO
After breakfast we take our luggage to continue our last adventure boat day, arriving in Colorado port, from there a local car take us to Puerto Carlos River port to continue by (Mazuco – Urcos) speed road to Cusco city. OPTIONAL: flight Puerto Maldonado – Cusco or Lima
