ECOTOURISM AND PROGRAMS IN THE MANU NATURAL PARKCODE : AM03 - PROGRAM : MANU CLOUD FOREST 4 days 3 night Thank you for inquiring about our Amaru Mayu Program are jungle specialists that can cater for any kind of trips in the Manu National Park and Biosphere Reserve. At Amaru Mayu Ecological Reserve believe in protecting and conserving the environment, promoting the small local enterprise of the area in cooperation with the local native communities, standing up for laboural rights and work ethics and promoting fair trade. And ensuring you have an adventure life time, whilst preserving Manu National Park and Biosphere Reserve. ITINERARY: DAY 1.- CUSCO - CLOUD FOREST
Departure from Cusco at 7:00 a.m. Travelling through the spectacular Andean ranges at 3800m asl. On the way stopping briefly at Ninamarca to visit a Pre Inca cemetery, then continuing our travel to Paucartambo colonial town where we stop (short visit) and, as we enter in Manu National Park (at Acjanaco), we will observe different ecological levels, beginning at the Elfin Forest (Paramo Andino) to the cloud forest, where we will take a brief walk to search the native exotic bird life like (Cock of the rock Rupicola Peruviana) and concluding the day arriving early evening at cloud forest where we will spend the night in an appropriate ecological campsite or lodge that the Atalaya Reserve provides.
DAY 2.- CLOUD FOREST - SANTA ROSA DE HUACARIA NATIVE COMUNITY - AMARU MAYU ECOLOGICAL RESERVE. Early morning its good time to begin walking at the surroundings of this nice place, visiting the paths at side and later start moving still by car to Pilcopata town and from there trekking (near two hours) to the Santa Rosa de Huacaria native community while observing different kinds of agriculture and traditional plantations on the way, reaching the community around midday. From the community we walk to the Huacaria river where we will have the opportunity to swim if desired, in warm tropical waters while resting at this beautiful place and lunch, getting prepare for our afternoon trek to Pilcopata and from there by car to Atalaya River Port then to arriving our Amaru Mayu campsite.
DAY 3.- AMARU MAYU ECOLOGICAL RESERVE.
Today we wake up early to walk “Paititi Refuge Path” a 2 hour trek to Piñi Piñi beach surrounded by primary mountain forest, give us the possibility to see some monkey species or other mammals unaware of our presence. while observing the abundant native flora that is present in this region, after this returning to Amaru Mayu campsite by boat for a hearty breakfast there, we take time to rest and to be prepare for the next morning trek following at “Laguna Misteriosa Path” a 4 hour trek (not for the faint hearted), searching for animals or their footprints on the way. On arrival at “Laguna Misteriosa” we can enjoy the views, landscapes and cascades that nature has provided bountiful for us. Continuing our trek through primary mountain forest, we return to our campsite for lunch and to spend our last night in this natural paradise.
DAY 4.- AMARU MAYU – CUSCO.
Early morning breakfast, we start ascending through the cloud forest, stopping at Paucartambo town and arriving back to Cusco city late afternoon where our trip concludes, at the hotels.
