MANU NATIONAL PARK AND BIOSPHERE RESERVE
"The tourism, as if the environment and people mattered"

The Manu National Park  Peru  was established by the D.S. 0644-73-AG (Supreme Decree) of May 29, 1973. The Park and the Reserve Zone of Manu, established by the R.S. 151-80-AA-DGFF (Supreme Resolution), are an important part of the Manu Biosphere Reserve; this international recognized category was declared by the UNESCO in 1977. Both areas are part of the National System of the State protected Natural Areas (SINANPE), its administration depends on the Natural Resources National   Institute INRENA, a Decentralized Public Organism of the Ministry of Agriculture.

In the 1987 UNESCO recognized the Manu Biosphere Reserve as: “Humanity Natural Heritage”.

BIOLOGICAL DIVERSITY:

Manu National Park, with an extension of 1 692 137.26 ha. represents one of the largest areas of conservation of Peru, it is the largest national park and has 13 different ecological layers, ranging from 200 m up to 4000 m. above sea level, which make up the biological diversity of flora and fauna.

The unique and inestimable value of the Manu National Park lies in the immense fauna and flora wealth that still remains unchanged by tye civilization, including all the environment range between the Subandean Pajonal and the lower tropical Forest.
