ABOUT ASPRIDEQ´

ASPRIDEQ´ Is a non profit organization with the main objective being the protection and conservation of the environment. It aim is to be a working model for the development of a sustainable system to manage the pristine forest. This foundation hopes are to promote and create consciousness in relation  to the adequate use of technology and the indirect exploitation of natural resources from the fragile rain forest of the mountain chain of Piñi Piñi River.

The geographical location is the buffer Zone of Manu National Park. District Manu and the provincial of Manu. The location of the land of Amaru Mayu is a transitional area between the high and low jungle. This particular environment provides special conditions for the interests of local and foreign: Students, Biologists, Scientists, Botanists, Zoologists, Anthropologists, Geologists or any other professional or students who wishes to integrate their skills in the different activities that the organization provides through the  Ecovoluntary system, Solidary Tourism, (Eco tourism) Protection, Conservation and Sustainable Management of the forest.

 

When participating within the Eco-volunteer program means that you will be in full cooperation with the person or persons in charge of the maintenance of the reserve where you are staying. The type of work that you choose to undertake will depend upon your expectations and skills. You may choose works such as opening paths or trails on maintenance, working within the infrastructure, maintenance of plantations and organic cultivations, monitoring fauna and reintroduction endemic animals, inventory flora with photograph registration, reforestation, inventorying plans with medicinal qualities, environmental consciousness teaching for native or local children, ( teaching basic English, arts, music, recycle, sports and others) or may discuss with us before your arrival the type of work you would like to undertake and we can advice you of the possibilities.

During your free time you can enjoy the many wonders that this reserve offer such as, observing many species of fauna in their natural habitat or investigating the diverse species of native flora, many of them with medicinal qualities or just  spending your time relaxing in this tropical paradise with a book in hand and your  thoughts of the fast pace of life you left behind, far away.

 

 AMARU MAYU ECOLOGICAL RESERVE.

 

This reserve is protected area within Manu National park (Buffer zone), the Amaru Mayu Reserve is located in the transitional area between the high and low jungle and is an integral part of Manu Biosphere Reserve. It is located between the eastern side of the Andean Ranges and the Amazonian Plains. It is characterized by a great topographical variation and houses a many great variety of fauna and flora. It is an area of high mountain ridges and vertical structures with a great ecological fragility. that is at risk due to the disappearance of the necessary flora which helps in the prevention of soil erosion. There is also the risk of extinction of many species of fauna through human intervention upsetting their habitat with the consequent degradation of the elemental quality and the ecological equilibrium.

Together with scientific research and a variety of volunteer work will help us to acquire new knowledge about the ecosystem of the Peruvian Jungle and helping us to promote a rise in environmental consciousness.
