ECOTOURISM AND PROGRAMS IN THE MANU NATURAL PARK

CODE : AM02 - PROGRAM : MANU CULTURAL AMARU MAYU 3 days 2 night

Thank you for inquiring about our Amaru Mayu Program  are jungle specialists that can cater for any kind of trips in the Manu National Park and Biosphere Reserve.

At Amaru Mayu Ecological Reserve believe in protecting and conserving the environment, promoting the small local enterprise of the area in cooperation with the local native communities, standing up for laboural rights and work ethics and promoting fair trade. And ensuring you have an adventure life time, whilst preserving Manu National Park and Biosphere Reserve.

ITINERARY 

DAY  1.-  CUSCO – AMARU MAYU 

Departing from Cusco at 6.00 a.m. and traveling through the spectacular Andean Ranges at 3800m asl, stopping at Paucartambo Colonial Town, where we visit briefly this place and as we enter Manu National Park we observe different ecological levels of forest, beginning at the Elfin Forest (Paramo Andino, cloud forest and high jungle), where we stop for lunch and to take a brief walk while enjoying  different landscapes  and seen different  birds, concluding  the day arriving to “Atalaya River Port” where, we will take a boat and finally arrive to our Amaru Mayu Campsite (Ecological Reserve), where we rest for two nights.

DAY  2.-  AMARU MAYU.

Today we wake up early morning to Trek “to the  Paititi Refuge Path” a 2 hours trek (Piñi Piñi river beach) surrounded by primary mountain forest and the possibility to observe a variety of Monkey species and other animals unaware of our presence. Also observing the abundant native flora that is present in this Region and returning to “Amaru Mayu campsite” by boat to have our breakfast there.

We take time to rest and been prepare for the following “Laguna Misteriosa Path” up onto the mountain a 4 hour trek, searching for animals or their footprints getting to the high mountain viewer  on the way, and coming back to the campsite for lunch, the last afternoon relaxing and enjoyment of this place and its surrounding views, warm climate and beautiful atmosphere at Manu National Park.

DAY  3.- AMARU MAYU - CUSCO

Today is important to wake up early morning again and after breakfast we will be taking the boat to continue our back trip by the car, and ascending through the mysterious Cloud Forest again, arriving back to Cusco city last afternoon, where the trip concludes landing back to your hostals.
