"ECO-VOLUNTEER PROGRAM AMARU MAYU"

Today Manu National Park and its Biosphere Reserve is been watched by the whole world. Everybody is talking about Manu. But when people think on Manu, we maybe think only about of its biodiversity and cultural richness, but Manu offers much more. To be part of Manu National Park we must accept responsibility to share working with the environment on a conscious level. It is our responsibility to recognize the problems and to find accurate solutions, working actively for and towards the conservation and development of this Biosphere Reserve.

The participation of the eco-volunteers therefore means a contribution to humanity. Those who have the opportunity to participate is everybody from professionals such as scientists, biologists, zoologists, botanists, anthropologists, geologists to students or eco-tourists who want to help our program to protect and conserve the environment.

As a volunteer in Manu, you will have the opportunity to work with a local environmental Non-Profit Organization for preserving this pristine slice of the Peruvian Jungle. Some of your time as a volunteer will be spend assisting this organization in implementing its current initiatives. You will also be heavily encouraged and relied upon to utilize your own skills and knowledge to add a little life and new perspective to these projects, as well as create new workshops and classes for the community.

What makes this program unique is the fact that you have complete freedom as a volunteer. The more you put on these programs, much more valuable and effective they become for the environment and the local people. This project requires volunteers to work creatively and independently, and is not the best option for volunteers who are looking for a highly organized and supervised program.

We are able to offer one, two or three months stay in Manu National Park with at least 15 days  in our reserve.

Your economic assistance will contribute towards land and river transportation from Cusco to the reserve, housing and food costs as well as the necessary equipment to be used during your agreed stay.

In order to be selected as an volunteer we require you to send a curriculum vitae or an essay about your priorities and expectations as a future eco-volunteer in the Peruvian Amazon jungle.
