Manu Adventure 4d/3n

Manu Adventure

We  leave Cusco in the morning making our ascent through the Andes towards Paucartambo, where we will enjoy learning about this interesting colonial and pleasing folkloric town; as we satisfy some orgánic appetites. Afterwards we visit the local cultural museum to get a better understanding of the local Andean culture.

Leaving Paucartambo we  begin to enter in  Manu Biosphere Reserve, where we are above the clouds gazing  below into the abundant jungle of the Amazon. As we descend down from the top slopes, the paramo  starts to change into elfin forest and this quickly turns into Cloud Forest.

The Cloud Forest landscapes are normally covered by mist, where there is a natural habitat we will explore to seek for a vast number of birds, and with a little luck, we may be able to oberve the Cock-of-the-Rock, MotMots, or Quetzals.

We then head down the mountain into the High Jungle to arrive at the first lodge of our trip, where we will experience our first night within the warmth and melody of the river port ATALAYA, along the high Madre De Dios river.

DAY 2:  ATALAYA – Amaru Mayu

After a hearty breakfast, we set off by boat, from Atalaya river port , towards Amaru Mayu lodge and ecological private voluntary reserve .

After we get seetled in and have lunch, we venture off on one our trails into the forest, with the possibility of observing a variety of animals, and plant life, which are protected by the boundaries of this forest

We then, return by boat to Amaru Mayu lodge, for dinner and our first overnight at this exotic location.
