Day 1 : Cusco – cloud forest

We wake up early to leave Cusco and begin a winding ascent through the Andes. The road starts to descend towards the village of Paucartambo where we stop to stretch our legs  and discover some interesting facts about this colonial town.

Leaving Paucartambo, we continue some Forty minutes to reach at 3,500 meters at the top of the eastern mountain range of the Andes. At this point we have entered into Manu Biosphere, where we are above the clouds gazing below into the plentiful jungle of the Amazon. As we descend down from the Paramo, the ecosystem starts to change to an elfin forest . And rapidly shifts into Cloud Forest.

On the way we stop for lunch and take in the scenary with a small hike to get to know the surroundings, searching through the diversity of life for various animals and birds, such as the national bird of Peru: the-Cock-of-the-Rock.

After our hike, we continue our descent down the mountain, the cloud forest soon converts into the High jungle. Before reaching our first overnight destination, we will visit a local wild life center for a warm and friendly contact with silver animals.

We then continue a short ways to arrive at our first lodge where we will spend the night in the sweet and cozy river port of ATALAYA.

Day 2 : ATALAYA –  Amaru Mayu

After an energetic breakfast, we take our luggage to continue the journey, this time by boat upriver, towards the Amaru Mayu lodge. During the boat ride, we experience the impressive landscape of the Pongo Qóñec canyon. Arriving soon at Amaru Mayu Conservation lodge.

After lunch, there will be an opportunity to have a short walk on the Piñi Piñi path through the first mountain jungle with the possibility to observe the abundant of flora, a variety of monkeys, and other animals, whom will be unsuspecting of our presence. We will thus be returning by boat. The way back to the camp is a spectacuar ride on the rapids through the canyon.

Day 3 : Amaru Mayu  and seeking for wild life

We wake up early to have a appetizing breakfast,  as we prepare soon after to visit  a small ox-bow lake by boat. Here we can see the diversity of birds that Manu has, relishing in this pleasurable portion of this  forest. We will be navigating the lake by way of a boat made of Balza woods. Cruising to our destination to visit the giant Ceiba tree. After we will be  returning to the lodge by boat for lunch.

Free relaxing afternoon at AMARU MAYU base camp which rests in the midle of the canyon offering a real and proper imersion in the native jungle environment.

Day 4 :  Amaru Mayu – Santa Rosa de Huacaria –

After breakfast we will go to Pilcopata town, where  we get to Santa Rosa de Huacaria Native community. We will delight in a tropical paradise , within the cordiality of the ethnic groups Matsiguenkas and Huachipaire

On the way to Huacaria river, where we can enjoy a refreshing swim in crystal waters and soak in the tropical sun, we will observe the different types of traditional agriculture and plantations.

After our swim, we say our goodbyes to our new friends and make our way towards the town ATALAYA, where we spend our last night. Dinner and overnight at ATALAYA lodge.

Day 5 : MANU – CUSCO.

After a relaxing time before we leave the jungle. We have breakfast and prepare ourselves for our trip . On the road we will make a short stop for lunch. Finally, we come back to Cusco around 6pm. Like all ways with all the blessings. End of our services.
